Who are the NonStick Pans?
Beyond the confines of the studio, Peter has cultivated a large following on TikTok and Instagram, where he blends music, comedy and pop culture. His content has featured on BBC Radio One, Radio X, Absolute Radio, Rolling Stone Magazine and even The New York Times.
In addition to the Pans, Peter is an accomplished actor and comedian with appearances on Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC Radio Four and The West End in the Olivier Award winning play ‘The Ferryman’.
Rugman's background in performance reflects his genuine desire to connect with people, allowing him blend all the complexities of the human experience into his songs. Peter Rugman grew up in Lancashire, in a house brimming with eclectic music: from Rock n’ roll to Barbershop, from Gregorian Chant to Jazz. After years of writing, performing, and teaching himself to just-about-play any instrument he could get his hands on, he formed The NonStick Pans. The moniker, a playful nod to the British invasion bands of the ‘60s, reflects the cheeky spirit and infectious energy that defines their sound. Blending elements of Power Pop, Indie Rock and ‘90s Britpop: their debut album, "Nineteen Sixty Four," was met with critical acclaim and helped build a dedicated fanbase.
Inspired by the raw emotions of life's most poignant moments, The NonStick Pans' songs delve into themes of joy, acceptance, grief, loss and most importantly love. To Rugman, each song is a cathartic release, a medium through which he can confront the demons of his past and celebrate the triumphs of his present.
